Once again, Asus is back hitting the FCC with yet another mini laptop, this time it’s the Asus Eee PC T101MT with a multi-touch display, 802.11b/g/n WiFi. Unfortunately there are pretty much no details on the other specs, what we’ve learned so far is that the Asus Eee PC T101MT is just an updated version of ASUS Eee PC T101 convertible netbook and it will be built based on the latest Intel Pine Trail. Expect to see it available in US Market in 2010.
Olympic fans will be happy to know that the Acer Aspire Timeline 1810TZ Olympic Edition notebook is already available in the US from Amazon.com priced at $580. The ultimate ultra compact mini laptop has a full-sized keyboard, an 11.6-inch high-resolution screen with 1366 x 768 resolutions, a 1.3GHz Intel Pentium Dual Core SU4100 processor, Intel 64 support (Windows 7 Home Premium), 3GB of RAM (2 DIMM slots), HDMI, hardware video decoding, Gigabit Ethernet, optical audio output and has an international Olympics logo on it. I think that makes it a notebook, inspite of its size. The Acer Timeline 1810TZ is the best bang for the buck in terms of features and performance. Besides it all, the battery life runs pretty well on Timelines – 5600 mAh – last over 9 hours battery life!
Three new ‘FoxOS’ netbook models from a Taiwanese OEM manufactuer called Foxconn has turned up at the FCC codenamed SZ901P, NS24, and NS20. There isn’t much information, but it’s safe to assume that these mini laptops will have 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth, WWAN, CCD webcam, VGA port, three USB ports, microphone, headphone jacks, and a touchpad with 2 keys. In the coming year 2010, the Foxconn SZ901P netbook will be running on Linux-based OS called FoxOS and you can also install Windows XP on this netbook. The FoxOS is made on the basis of the Linux kernel and it has simple specification and intuitive Foxtop UI, combining multimedia capabilities, Internet access services, productivity tools, administrative tools, etc. How much and when? Nothing is known at this point of time.
