M-Budget 10.1-inch mini laptop: Here’s your chance to grab the M0Budget MO-D250-0DGR netbook for as low as 333 Swiss Francs, or $324 USD. Alright, Swiss retailer melectronics has published sale of M-Budget, which is powered by a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, and a 10.1 inch display. It also features 802.11b/g WiFi, Ethernet connectivity, a webcam and a memory card slot. This mini laptop runs Windows 7 Starter Edition as OS.

CTL 2go E10IS

Students living in the US will be pleased to know that CTL is adding an 10 inch mini laptop with an Intel Pine Trail processor to its Classmate PC lineup. The CTL 2go Classmate PC E10IS netbook will run on a choice of Windows XP, Windows 7 or Linux OS and has a battery life of 4.5 hours. If the picture above is accurate, you’re looking at what should be a really comfortable machine to use for it’s size. Dimensions are 250×200×38 mm, and weighs 2.8 pounds. As a quick review, the CTL 2go E10IS netbook boasts of  the following specs:

  • a 10.1-inch LED-backlit display (1024×600 pixels)
  • a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor
  • 1GB of RAM (expandable to 2GB)
  • 160GB 2.5-inch SATA HDD 5400RPM
  • 4-in-1 card reader (MS/MS Pro/MMC/SD)
  • 0.3 megapixel webcam
  • Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n

Sony VAIO Z Series

Sony VAIO Z Series 13.1-inch mini laptop: There were rumors that Sony’s VAIO Z series laptops will come with one of the fastest notebook storage drives in late March. The VAIO VPCZ11Z9E and VPCZ11X9E have four SSD drives configured in RAID 0, four drives should be a lot faster than 1 SSD (nearly 4x), but if one drive fails, all data is lost. It would be interesting to know what Brand of SSDs are used. As a high-end brand, a very low weight is the distinctive feature of the VAIO series of notebook, both VAIO Z models weighs less than 3.2 lbs. Inside it’s packing a 13.1-inch LED backlit screen, a Nvidia GeForce GT330M graphics chipset with 1GB GDDR3 VRAM, HDMI-out and 64-bit Windows 7 Professional. The difference between VAIO VPCZ11Z9E and the VPCZ11X9E is Z9E features a 3.33GHZ Core i7-620m processor max while X9E features a 2.93GHZ Core i7-620m processor max. Pricing is yet to be confirmed, but the Sony VAIO Z Series will be available in Europe at the end of March.
