The Japanese Company, NEC, one of the famous laptop and netbook manufacturer has revealed a new product named NEC ShieldPRO N22G rugged laptop. The NEC ShieldPRO N22G is a 12.1-inch NEC Mini Laptop with a 1024×600 back-lit LCD touchscreen display and is powered by a 1.33GHz Intel Core i7-660UE dual-core processor, up to 160GB hard drive, an optional 32GB SSD and 4GB of RAM. Other specs of the ShieldPRO N22G includes three USB ports, 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, an SD card/Memory Stick Duo card slots and a battery providing 12 hours life. It measures 290 x 255 x 47mm and weighs in at just 2.7kg. Pricing info is still unavailable so far.
NEC has announced a new mini laptop which is known as NEC LifeTouch Note in Japan, which runs on Goole’s Android 2.2 operating system. The new NEC mini laptop packs an 7-inch 800 x 480 touch panel display, NVIDIA Tegra 250 mobile processor. Along with 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, USB 2.0, two megapixel camera, SDHC card reader, headphone jack, QWERTY keyboard and Li-ion battery. This notebook will become available in Japan for price tag $480 (4GB internal memory), $540 (8GB + WiFi) and $660 (8GB + 3G).

According to PC World, NEC will introduce its LifeTouch Tablet PC, the newest addition to the tablet line, at CES in January. Designed for businesses, the new NEC LifeTouch Tablet is a dual-screen version of the company’s Android tablet that features a pair of 7-inch 800 x 480 touchscreen display and runs on Google Android operating system. The computer will also pack Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G connectivity. As expected full details are thin on the ground at the moment but hopefully more specific information will become available in CES 2011 next month.
