Sony will soon begin selling their latest Sony Vaio E Series notebooks. The Sony Vaio E Series features a 15.5″ widescreen display with optional HD, an Intel 2.4GHz Core i5 processor with Hyper-threading and Turbo Boost, 4GB of RAM, a 500GB hard drive and a DVD burner. Other specs include Bluetooth, an HDMI port, eSATA and three USB ports. The Sony Vaio E Series will come in brown, pink silver and green in glossy finish, and it will come with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. The new VAIO E Series notebook is listed on the site for $799.99, but shipping will (unfortunately) only begin in March.
Finally! A Windows 7 Home Premium pre-installed Sony 14-inch multimedia laptop. Sony put the newest Intel Core i5 processor on their 14″ Sony VAIO CW series, now available from its Product Page. Let’s look at its specs: a 14-inch 1366 x 768 LED backlit display, an Intel Core i5 processor (up to 2.53GHz), 4GB of DDR3 memory, a 500GB hard drive, a DVD burner or Blu-ray combo drive, and 256 MB of NVIDIA GeForce 310M video graphics card. The price around $809.99 and available in white, black, pink, red, blue colors.
Sony VAIO Z Series 13.1-inch mini laptop: There were rumors that Sony’s VAIO Z series laptops will come with one of the fastest notebook storage drives in late March. The VAIO VPCZ11Z9E and VPCZ11X9E have four SSD drives configured in RAID 0, four drives should be a lot faster than 1 SSD (nearly 4x), but if one drive fails, all data is lost. It would be interesting to know what Brand of SSDs are used. As a high-end brand, a very low weight is the distinctive feature of the VAIO series of notebook, both VAIO Z models weighs less than 3.2 lbs. Inside it’s packing a 13.1-inch LED backlit screen, a Nvidia GeForce GT330M graphics chipset with 1GB GDDR3 VRAM, HDMI-out and 64-bit Windows 7 Professional. The difference between VAIO VPCZ11Z9E and the VPCZ11X9E is Z9E features a 3.33GHZ Core i7-620m processor max while X9E features a 2.93GHZ Core i7-620m processor max. Pricing is yet to be confirmed, but the Sony VAIO Z Series will be available in Europe at the end of March.
