Asus reveals new PL30JT Notebook at CeBIT 2010

Asus unveils, what the company calls a ultra-slim mini laptop, the Asus PL30JT at the CeBIT. Guess what? the Asus PL30JT measures less than 1” thick and weighs only 1.7kg. It is powered by an Intel Core i5-520UM processor running on Intel Mobile HM55 chipset, up to 4GB 1066MHz DDR3 RAM, and up to 640GB SATA hard drive. It also features a 13.3-inch(1336*768) LCD display, NVIDIA GeForce 310M 1GB VRAM and 10 hours of battery life. Expect to see it available in US, although we have no idea on the pricing details as at press time.

Some photos of the upcoming Averatec N1200 pinetrail netbook have show up online, the Averatec N1200 is an 10 inch thin-and-light mini laptop powered by 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 Processor. Featuring a 10.1-inch 1024 x 600 display, an integrated Intel GMA 3150 graphics card, 1GB RAM, a 160-gigabyte hard drive, WiFi, a 3200mAh battery and runs on Windows 7 OS. It also has two USB 2.0 ports, an Ethernet port, webcam, VGA out, and card reader. It is a big deal as it is the thinnest, lightest 10.1-inch netbook on the market today (just 2.2 pounds 0.9 inches).

I reviewed the MSI Wind12 U230 netbook a few days ago, and now MSI has finally confirmed the American availability of the MSI Wind12 U230, comes with two model configuration including the Wind12 U230-033, and the Wind12 U230-040. Both of them features a 12.1-inch HD LCD display with resolution of 1366×768 pixel, ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics card, 2GB of DDR2, a 6 cell battery, and Windows 7 Home Premium operating system. All models also include a 1.3 megapixel webcam, HDMI VGA port, three USB 2.0 ports, and a 4×1 card reader. The difference between the two models is processor and hard drive – Athlon Neo MV-40 / 250GB SATA drive in the U230-033 and Athlon X2 L335 / 320GB SATA drive in the U230-040. Dimensions are 13.75×9.61×3.47 inches, and weighs 3.3lbs. Finally, the base U230-033 is priced at $429.99, while U230-040 starts at $479.99.

MSI has shown of a new X-Slim series notebook at the CeBIT 2010, the MSI X-Slim X360, which is incredibly thin measuring in at just 1-inch thick and weighing just 1.4kg. It is the company’s first ULV notebook based on Intel Arrandale platform. The MSI X-Slim X360 is reported to features Intel’s Turbo Boost and Hyper-Threading technology, also has a Core i5 CPU with the HM55 chipset, a 13-inch 1,366×768 display, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, up to 500GB hard drive, HDMI and VGA-out, a 1.3MP webcam, Ethernet, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, a 4 or 8 cell battery, and runs Windows 7 Home Premium OS. How much and when? Nothing is known at this point.

The MSI Wind U160 netbook is a great notebook which offers 14-15 hours of battery life, I am looking for something exactly like this. The MSI Wind U160 netbook now available at Newegg.com for $379.99, while Buy.com offers the MSI Wind U160 netbook for $384.99. This looks to be one of the best mini laptop for the price at the moment. For less than $400 shipped, you will get a great looking netbook with 10.1” 1024 x 600 display (glossy), a 1.66GHz Atom N450 processor and GMA 3150 graphics (it is a good thing Intel has finally stopped tying the power hungry GMA950 chipset to their Atom CPU’s), 1GB of RAM, and a 250GB HDD.

Looking forward to the LG X300? According to available data, the latest LG’s ultra-thin mini laptop release, LG X300 netbook will be rolling out in March. Reportedly, this powerful little device weighs only 970g and is 17.6mm thick. The LG X300 netbook features a sleek 11.6-inch HD display with resolution of 1366×768 pixel, an Atom Z550 processor (2.0GHz), 2GB of RAM, a 128GB solid state drive (SSD), and runs Windows 7 Home Premium. The LG X300 also comes with integrated 3G module (supports GSM, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, or HSDPA networks), a chiclet keyboard, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, it has a 2x 2-cell providing of up to 7 hours of battery life. Asus Eee PC 1005PR unveiled at CeBIT 2010

Asus is set to launch a Pine Trail netbook with the Asus Eee PC 1005PR according to the official ASUS site. The 1005PR is the company’s first 10.1 inch mini laptop to have a 1366 x 768 HD display. Asus says the Eee PC 1005PR “Go anywhere in style with the Eee PC™ 1005 PR – Enjoy HD multimedia content anywhere”. This machine packs a 10.1″ LED Backlight WXGA display and offers a Broadcom Crystal HD Decoder card which means 1080p video content should be no problem. Aside from its HD display, is an Intel 1.66GHz N450 Atom processor, 1GB RAM, a 250GB hard drive, a 63Whr 6-cell battery, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1 as well as Windows 7 Starter Edition.

Acer announced four new TravelMate series notebooks, Acer TravelMate 6594, Acer TravelMate 7740, Acer TravelMate 5740, and the Acer TravelMate 8×72, built on Intel’s new Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7 mobile processors and working under Windows 7 operating system. Check out the specs below:

Acer TravelMate 6594 specs:

Intel Core i7 or i5 processors, ATI Radeon HD 5670 graphics. 15.6 inch display with a 16:9 aspect ratio, up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM, up to 5 hours of battery life.

Acer TravelMate 7740/5740 specs:

Intel Core i5 or i3 processors, upto 8GB of DDR3 RAM, integrated graphics or the ATI Radeon HD5470 graphics, 5 hours of battery life. The main differences between the two are that the Acer TravelMate 7740 has a 17.3-inch display while the 5740 is an 15.6-incher.
