Sony VAIO Z Series

Sony VAIO Z Series 13.1-inch mini laptop: There were rumors that Sony’s VAIO Z series laptops will come with one of the fastest notebook storage drives in late March. The VAIO VPCZ11Z9E and VPCZ11X9E have four SSD drives configured in RAID 0, four drives should be a lot faster than 1 SSD (nearly 4x), but if one drive fails, all data is lost. It would be interesting to know what Brand of SSDs are used. As a high-end brand, a very low weight is the distinctive feature of the VAIO series of notebook, both VAIO Z models weighs less than 3.2 lbs. Inside it’s packing a 13.1-inch LED backlit screen, a Nvidia GeForce GT330M graphics chipset with 1GB GDDR3 VRAM, HDMI-out and 64-bit Windows 7 Professional. The difference between VAIO VPCZ11Z9E and the VPCZ11X9E is Z9E features a 3.33GHZ Core i7-620m processor max while X9E features a 2.93GHZ Core i7-620m processor max. Pricing is yet to be confirmed, but the Sony VAIO Z Series will be available in Europe at the end of March.
