The HP TouchPad tablet is now available in the US market via Amazon, B&H, Best Buy, and J&R. Price of HP TouchPad are $499.99 for 16GB and $599.99 for 32GB model. The new mini tablet comes with a 9.7-inch XGA touchscreen display, a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 1.3MP front-facing camera, 16GB or 32GB of internal storage space, 1GB RAM, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, and runs with the latest WebOS 3.0. HP also said a 3G model for AT&T will be available later this summer, though pricing has not been announced, spotted by BGR.
“What makes HP TouchPad a compelling alternative to competing products is webOS,” said Jon Rubinstein, senior vice president and general manager, Palm Global Business Unit, HP. “The platform’s unmatched features and flexibility will continue to differentiate HP products from the rest of the market for both personal and professional use. This is only the beginning of what HP’s scale can do with webOS.”
Archos is going to release the Archos Arnova 7 Android Tablet PC, a 7-inch mini tablet, according to leaked specifications. Features – a resistive touchscreen LCD spanning 800 x 480 pixels, 720p HD video playback, 4GB flash memory, 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi connectivity, a microSD expansion slot, and runs on Android 2.2 Froyo OS. There’s no word yet on what CPU drives this tablet, but the Archos Arnova 7 will have access to the AppsLib store instead of the Android Market. [Product Page]
